The role of Community Life Assistant is designed to provide administrative assistance to our Community Life Team. We are looking for a highly organized and collaborative administrator who can help our team create an environment where each person at Central feels like they belong.

  • The capacity to learn to use the church database (Planning Center) for information, updating, attendance, creating events, event registrations, training of volunteers, communications, assigning workflows, etc.

  • Thoughtful, creative, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Warm and caring interpersonal skills.

Primary responsibilities


  • Oversee logistical details for volunteers and attendees on campus for weekend services.
  • Ensure that all guests receive the appropriate follow-up and connection (email, phone calls, etc.) with the appropriate people.
  • Assist the Connections Director in managing and scheduling volunteers for the nine facets of the Connections Team: 1) Central Perk  2) Free Coffee  3) Greeters  4) Ushers  5) Welcome Desk  6) Valet Parking  7) Hospitality  8) Medical Response Team 9) Communion 
  • Communicate all weekend campus activities and special events (times, locations) to volunteers and staff.


  • Coordinate specific ministry event details (purchasing items, set up, basic coordination of volunteers, etc.) including Connection Class, Discover Central Lunch, baptisms, Central U, LifeGroup launch, etc.
  • Assist with training and development opportunities for volunteers in the Community Life/Connections department.
  • Set up and coordinate events that pertain to the Community Life Team
    • Schedule room usage, submit blue sheet requests, prepare room, coordinate food for events

Staff Relationships

  • A member of the Community Life team, reporting to the Connections Director and the Pastor of Community Life.

Time Commitment

  • This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Expected to attend weekly Community Life meetings.
  • Expected to be on-site each Sunday and two Saturdays per month, unless previous arrangements have been made with the Pastor of Community Life.
